Tapas is a beloved Spanish finger food and also popular in Costa Blanca. Different places offer different specialties of seafood; in Denia north from our fabulous holiday homes in Javea you’ll be served gamba roja delicious red shrimps, the dried octopus is worth to be tried, the Spanish name is pulpo seco.
The locals eat a lot of salazones (dried and salted fish) (pop-up with pictures) but also use a lot of rice in their foods. More than 300 rice dishes are known here, paellas are prepared in a flat plate over the fire. You will find plenty of rice dishes in every smaller or bigger restaurant.
In Alicante arroz la alicantina, is a rice dish with fish and shellfish. Stews and boiled dishes belong to the most popular meals all over the Costa Blanca. Most of them contain pork, sausages, and grains of wheat, chickpeas, beans or rice. Desserts are something everybody needs after a consistent meal and turron is something you'll love to taste. It’s made of honey, sugar and egg white.
